National Online Workshop on Systematic Review and Meta-analysis
The Department of Pharmacy Practice, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) Guwahati organized a “National Online Workshop on Generating the Highest Level of Evidence through Systematic Review and Meta-analysis: Best Alternative for Hospital Based Projects during the Current Pandemic Situation” on 28th & 29th August 2020. More than 2000 participants attended this workshop on systematic review and meta-analysis from all most all states of India and also from abroad. Renowned experts in conducting systematic review and meta-analysis were delivered the lectures and demonstrated the steps involved in the systematic review and meta-analysis. We received the magnificent feedback from the participants and they strongly agreed that this workshop inculcated the knowledge and skills among them. Bio-NEST, NIPER-Guwahati Incubation center conducted an outreach program at Banshigopal Natya Mandir, Garmur Satra, Majuli, Assam on 6th December 2019. More than 90 traditional healers from different district of Assam and Namsai district of Arunachal Pradesh were attended the program. Traditional Healers were very much interested about the incubation center, and incubation process. After, this presentation, innovative discussions were carried out by our members with different traditional healers. Some of them were interested to validate their traditional herbal medicine with our sophisticated instruments that available right now at NIPER and wants to be incubatee in future.
NIPER-Guwahati conducted Awareness programme on Usages of Herbal Medicine under NMHS project at Majuli, Assam about 90 traditional healers and local people from different district of Assam and Namsai District, Arunachal Pradesh participated.
Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP)
National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Guwahati conducted One-day Workshop on “Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) Training for Community/Retail Pharmacists” at Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya, Beltola Tiniali, Guwahati, Assam on 28th September 2019.
The workshop was supported by Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India, under Pharmaceutical Promotion & Development Scheme (PPDS) with an aim to providing information related various aspects of the Good Pharmacy Practice to all practicing pharmacists are obliged to ensure that the service they provide to every patient is of appropriate quality.
The workshop was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp. Dr.RK Talukdar, Principal, Gauhati Medical College was the Chief Guest for the function and Guest of Honour Dr.PJ Gogoi, Director, RDTL, & Regional Director (Northeast) Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India. Other dignitaries present at the function include Dr.USN Murty, Director, NIPER-Guwahati, Dr. Prof. Pramil Tiwari, HOD, Department of Pharmacy Practice, NIPER-Mohali, Dr Vinay Kumar Gupta, Assistant Drug controller, Varanasi, Dr. HM Mohanto, Senior Drug Inspector, Johrat.
