Overview

Department of Medical Devices at the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) Guwahati started offering M.Tech in Medical Devices since 2020 to pursue research and teaching in the interdisciplinary area of medical devices. Department has collaboration with IIT-Guwahati, and Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ), Vishakhapatnam to get better exposure of technology to address the uncover problem in medical devices.

MTech studies in the Department of Medical Devices are devoted to high-quality research, education and training of students. Our emphasis is to make students creative and independent investigators for their future positions in the academic or industrial environment.

Objective

• To pursue interdisciplinary teaching and research focus (but not limited) on the development of new generation smart medical devices and techniques. (Biosensors, Ultrathin sensors, Bio-microfluidics, Cold plasma medicine, and Tissue engineering, etc)
• Impart their knowledge on medical devices testing and quality monitoring.
• Contribution in building a workforce in different aspects of testing and manufacturing of the devices.
