National Conference on "NEW TRENDS IN MULTI MODAL MOLECULAR IMAGING APPLICATIONS FOR ANIMAL STUDIES IN DRUG DISCOVERY" on 20th and 21st November, 2018
The main focus of this conference will be on the recent technological developments in drug discovery and animal studies.This conference will explore the path-breaking discoveries and advancements in the in-vivo imaging platforms and also explore how these advancements can be used in expediting the drug discovery process by visualizing both anatomical and molecular biological changes simultaneously.
Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) – 31st October 2018
To commemorate the birth anniversary of Late Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, NIPER-Guwahati celebrated the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) on 31st October 2018 in a befitting manner. The event started with Dr. USN Murty, Director addressing the gathering on the iron willed achievements of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. A Pledge taking ceremony was organized to mark the occasion. All the faculty members, staff and students took pledge for the integrity and unity of the country. The observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) provides us an opportunity to reaffirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and security of our country.

Meeting with Dilip Sanghvi, Founder of Sun Pharmaceuticals & Sri Ravi Kapoor, IAS Additional Chief Secretary Industries & Commerce, Govt. of Assam during the Inaugural function of New Sun Pharma Plant near to NIPER Guwahati. Chief Minister of Assam Mr. Sarbananda Sonowal was the chief Guest of the function.
The 4th India International Science Festival (IISF) 2018 was organized by Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Earth Sciences in association with Vijnana Bharati at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow during 5th-8th October, 2018. NIPER-Guwahati has participated and set up one stall in the MEGA SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY & INDUSTRY EXPO during the science festival.
The Director, Dr. USN Murty, NIPER-Guwahati had active participation in various scientific sessions especially in the North East student’s conclave during the festival.
Dr. Ranadeep Gogoi, Assistant Professor and Mr. Rajaram Mohanrao Madhana, PhD Scholar of NIPER-Guwahati have participated and displayed the NIPER-Guwahati stall in the MEGA SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY & INDUSTRY EXPO, IISF-2018 at Lucknow.
NIPER-Guwahati celebrated its 10th Foundation Day on 16th September 2018, with a day long program at Hotel Kiranshree Grand, Airport Road, Mirzapur, Guwahati, Assam.
Dr. Gitanjali Batmanabane, Director, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar, graced the occasion as chief guest.
In the welcome address, Dr. USN Murty, Director, NIPER-Guwahati, emphasized the challenges that NIPER-Guwahati faced during its journey of 10 years, the future vision and scientific exploration set forward for taking the Institute in the years ahead. He further emphasized on research works related to the Nation’s current health care needs and forecasted the adaptation of NIPER-Guwahati to fulfill the responsibility relegated onto it. Dr.Gitanjali Batmanabane, in her Foundation Day lecture, highlighted the NIPER-Guwahati’s presence in the North East region and its role to undertake community-based research projects for the benefits of the people living in this region. Dr VGM Naidu, Dean and Dr Utpal Mohan, Asst Prof were awarded Best Publication and Best External Cash Flow awards, respectively. The function concluded with prize distribution followed by cultural programme by the artists of Regional Outreach Bureau (Songs and Drama Division) Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Govt. of India.

NIPER-Guwahati participated in the ‘Advantage Assam’- the Assam Global Investors' Summit held during 03-04 February 2018,which was the largest ever investment promotion and facilitation initiative by the Government of Assam. The Summit aims at highlighting the state’s geostrategic advantages offered to investors by Assam. The event showcased the manufacturing prowess and the opportunities offered by the state in terms of export-oriented manufacturing and services to growing economies viz. ASEAN and BBN countries.
“Sahay” is an initiative of the students of NIPER-Guwahati to serve the people who are in need. It’s the enthusiasm and a good ambition of the students to share a part of their benefits with the underprivileged in the society, which gave birth to Sahay. It was formed as a voluntary organization on 7th March 2014.
